Experience Staying in a Tipi on a Cree Reserve
Located on the Flying Dust First Nation beside the City of Meadow Lake.
This Tipi has access to power, Wi-fi camping chairs, picnic tables and cooking supplies to cook over the outdoor fire bowl grill.

Land Based Education

Cree North Adventures offers traditional land based teachings primarily to First Nation schools.

Activities include:
1. setting snares and winter trapping techniques.
2. cooking and preparing wild game over the campfire.
3. tipi teachings and set-up with the youth.
4. snowshoeing.
5. cleaning fish.
6. smoking meat and food preservation including pemmican making and bannock making.

Elder Teachings

Neva Mirasty is a Flying Dust elder who will share stories and will speak about the Cree worldview of miyo-pimachesowin the ability to make a good living.

​Deloras Blackmon is a Canoe Lake Cree First Nation elder and will speak about her experience living the northern Woodland Cree lifestyle.

Tipi Accommodations

For Winter accommodations
Cree North Adventures features an 18ft Cree style tipi:
  • an insulated liner(winter insulation),
  • wood stove,
  • camping cots,
  • cooking supplies,
  • and two -30 sleeping bags.
​The tipi has access to power and is located on a River bank overlooking the Meadow River.

Canoe and Kayak rental

Cree North offers a Canoe and Kayak rental for customers who want to experience the Meadow River.
Pick-up location down-river approximately 2hr ride.

Snowshoe tours

5 km snowshoe tour along the Meadow River and maintained trail in the Forrest.

Star Gazing

During the Fall and Winter months on occasion, the northern lights can be seen.
