Land Based EducationCree North Adventures offers traditional land based teachings primarily to First Nation schools. Activities include: 1. setting snares and winter trapping techniques. 2. cooking and preparing wild game over the campfire. 3. tipi teachings and set-up with the youth. 4. snowshoeing. 5. cleaning fish. 6. smoking meat and food preservation including pemmican making and bannock making. |
Elder TeachingsNeva Mirasty is a Flying Dust elder who will share stories and will speak about the Cree worldview of miyo-pimachesowin the ability to make a good living. Deloras Blackmon is a Canoe Lake Cree First Nation elder and will speak about her experience living the northern Woodland Cree lifestyle. |
